Sihanouk for Premier in 2008

Now the Cambodia situation is nearly irreversible once again if Mr. Hun Sen and cliques remaining in power much longer. People are fed up with the impossible living standard under governmental rampant corruption. Nonetheless Mr. Hun Sen has given no corner to critics but increased his dictatorial grips to fend off criticism and democratic challenge.

Many speculations are in the making that the CPP is on the brink of division among the communist hardliners and moderate accomplices. The internal bickering flared up between the CPP of Mr. Hun Sen Viet Nam extremity and the Khmer traditional extremity leadership. Many of his CPP fellows voiced out concerns but Hun Sen kept exerting his stand alone authority more obvious than before even in the eyes of his foreign critics. But from times to times Mr. Hun Sen was over confident and sternly threatening to do without the constitutional monarchy which was legally bound by majority vote under the UN watch.

To no surprise, Sihanouk still has effect on people in both spectrums despite his misdeeds toward populace in the past. Less than six months in retirement, the former king has desired to re-emerge to deal with most contested border matters with neighboring countries which highlighted Mr. Hun Sen due failures as Prime Minster.

At age 82 years his avid personality and considerable popularity has not dimmed just yet. His expressed endeavor to bring about change in Cambodia territorial integrity has generated enough attention especially among many who live abroad and many well known scholars that made Mr. Hun Sen very uncomfortable.

Unquestionably many disagreed with Sihanouk personal pitfalls but he still remains popular among people of all walks of life. The world and people were aware of his alleged crimes against humanity as he managed to re- established his doomed kingdom once again with UN endorsement. He is more appealing than all politicians combined including the most provocative Assemblyman Sam Raingsy. Once again it appears he is the only person who can amass all support from both domestic and abroad alike to stabilize Cambodia into the new millennium. Logically former monarch campaign platform could be just the holistic anti-corruption and border dispute which still warrants UN attention. It appears the former monarch may entertain the idea as Mr. Hun Sen keeps alienating more of his own followers that could indeed backfire on his clique.

At the moment people still hang their hope on the former King known passion of intrigue politic which may be the sparkle of another people revolution to remove dictatorship out of Cambodia government once for all before his old age death. With his cognizance former king may just fulfill his own prophecy before his own eyes as the riddle unfolding its meaning the small slender king shall rule the three kingdoms. For the record he had ruled two kingdoms so far therefore the third one may just be another urge of his pronouncement of national drive. Plainly speaking former king has nothing to loose at his dying days as opposed to Mr. Hun Sen who may find himself walking in Sihanouk shoes sooner than the predicament. This time all people will come out to vote in folds as they did in 1993.

Cambodia Pawn of Colonialism

By Prak Hap
June 10, 2005

As the unwanted results tinkered down, Cambodia government appeared to wake up on wrong side of the bed too often since the signing of the international supervised Paris Peace Treaty in 1991. Now 2005 14 years late the neighboring nations have not ceased their violations yet according to noted following occurrences.

Thailand: fighter Jets have violated Cambodia airspace, then dispatched unusual troop increase along the most worldly known contested border point, Preah Vihear and neglect to investigate the on going random killing of Khmer laborers in its jurisdiction Viet Nam citizens, at own cognizance and proof intent, had recently planted markers over Khmer territory and to date Viet Nam still occupies islands belong to Cambodia Lao soldiers capricious judgment interfering Cambodia road reparation along borderline

From legal perspective, Cambodia has every right to demand justification from neighboring nations but instead its super extra large government cheated itself with illusion in crating a unilateral Supreme Border Council headed by former monarch who dedicated his talents to ensure Cambodia never can get out of his own betrayals.

Unequivocally all matters involved Cambodia neighboring countries are not extraordinaire to France past doings that had perpetuated Cambodia situation to the lowest point of its history. Unsurprisingly Sihanouk knew all along that France had held Cambodia at gun point to redraw its so called administrative jurisdiction lines with the enforcement of its goon squad of Yuan ancestry to suppress any Cambodia protest then. Not only had that Sihanouk known of Cambodia volunteered partisans helped liberating France from Germany colonization during WW II. Yet he never called on France moral responsibility and courage to clean its inhumane mess in Cambodia before its departure in 1953.

In relation to that soon after the end of World War II the emerging US came to occupy Co Chin Chine and partial of Thailand when it staged its ideological war against the formidable nemesis USSR and China over Taiwan or Korea conflict in 50's. Sihanouk had done it again to provoke US temper as he was soothed by China fortune cookies.

With its own experience of colonization, US couldn't have done differently for Cambodia situation as many Khmers helped fighting its ideological adversary proxy Viet Cong. For the long time US was well aware of Viets hidden expansionist agenda. At the peak of Khmer ethnic vigorous protest in 60's, US President Kennedy pressed its puppet Ngo Din Diem who always wanted to kill off all rightful inhabitants of disputed Co Chin Chine and Cambodia in order to legitimize Viet Nam colonization. Oddly enough US were no stranger of its own hidden secret to bomb the hell out of Cambodia from 68 to 73 when many of its battlefields in stalemate. Yet surprisingly it never acknowledged its illegal activities in Cambodia plus abandonment of its loyal Khmer fighters' fate to the bloody hands of old entangled nemesis China and Viet Nam in 1975.

Then in 1979 after Viet Nam occupied Cambodia, US had fuelled up the murderous cliques under Sihanouk leadership with lethal and economic aids to continue its quest of eradicating the rest of Khmers for Viet Nam convenience. Now Cambodia needs financial help to trial all the DK accomplices and murderers, the US or China has taken silence with no penny dropped. Is this un-extraordinaire or what?

No matter what at the manipulation of UN double standard process, Cambodia is still treated as a pawn of foreign powers included the neo-colonialist Viet Nam. In sum, it appears Cambodia had never been equally treated as a respected nation since Napoleonic era. However UN seemed let go of Cambodia matters involved its neighbors to no equal of Israel vs. Palestine agenda. Thus it is not what it is but what it seems as the rule of judgment in the eyes of the rain makers. So does it say beauty is in the eye of its beholder, therefore Cambodia is no beauty to France or alike at the UN.

CAMBODIANS CAN HELP KH TRIBUNAL

I strongly believe that many Cambodians people willing to assist for making Khmer Rouge tribunal to become reality. I'm not talking about 3/4 of people are living in poverty in Cambodia no doubt about this. But my point is some people in Cambodia and many Cambodians living oversea are able to contribute financially.

Let see the fact, each year oversea Cambodians send money to their homeland at approximately between $250 to $300 million dollar. A lot of them having their relatives killed by KR and want to see justice done or at least who bear behind this catatrophic event. There is an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 Cambodians living outside Cambodia. In USA alone there are 150,000 to 200,000. And if just only 1/4 them share $ 100 donation, $13.8 million in part of Cambodian government obligation to pay will be sufficiently met. I myself ready with great enthusiastic to provide more than the above amount at the moment of notice.

Helping my fellow Cambodian poors is another thing and to fill their daily living potholes, but to take a small part for bringing KH Rouge hardcore criminal doers to justice is like to send a message that any person out there that when you commit any crime, it doesn't always pay. It comes back to hunt you later if not sooner. Logically, living in America, I'm happy to pay all kinds of taxes because my money will be spent to protect and build a safe and strong community/society for future children. Again it is the same thing that I'm willing to donate money to get a justice prevail for my late relatives and other Cambodians and for the good sake of Cambodia's future, folks. Take my words!
