cambodian people getting tortured and killed by the Thai army

I am sadened to see some cambodian people getting tortured and killed by the Thai army. This needs to be stopped. it 's a violation of human right.whoever in charge in Thai army must be charged to this kind of criminal acts against the innocent cambodian people.

what do cambodian people do to them(Thai) that make them acting worse than animal like? Cambodian people are gentle, respectful to their neighbors. I read an article another day about a cambodian couple sneaking in to work in Thailand. they got caught and imprisoned. some were killed and others were tortured. concerning the couple for instance, his wife was pregnant, and delivered baby in the prison with out medical assistance. what a sad thing!! that Thai did this young mom.afer her delivery, Thai authority bused back to the border. since she just delivered the baby. she was exausted and weak. while she tried to get off the bus. one hand hold her baby and other to support herself to get down. " Thai army pushed her out of the bus. she fell face down and landed on her newborn.as a result of the impact, she was unconscious, and her newborn was killed. when she gained back her conscious, and knowing that her baby died. she cried devastatedly for help. Thai arm grasp the dead baby from her hand and threw it in the army truck and left. this is what I read from the article.

If this is true, the United nation of human right needs to investigate and charge those who commint this criminal acts. I did not recall about the web site, either from Kosentepheap or one of the news about cambodia. if you search , you 'll find it.

Where’s France Moral Accountability?

Where’s France Moral Accountability?

To date France has continued to boast to the world that it saved Cambodia from extinction and neighbors’ subjugation but ironically it never admitted its true hypocrisy and exploitative nature. After established its absolute control and choke hold on Khmer society in late 1800’s, Napoleonic France ceded Khmer territory to Siam, the non-admitted England colony, in exchange for co existence. Because of its self serving interest, France disregarded Khmer rights entirely and aided Viet Nam formally An Nam to stake homestead permanently on Khmer soil bordered with former Kingdom of Champa in central region. An Nam known as north as France old colonial Co Chin Chine known as South of Viet Nam.

Geo-politic took serious turn with division as west, east and third world after World War II. Both China and USSR led Com-Intern influence east Europe additionally third world which inescapably provoked US led NATO and SEATO confrontation in Cold War (literally not very cold at all) which appropriately known as Ideological War which first took a stiff stand off between USSR and US in Cuba, then proletarian China–USSR dominated SE Asia where US stocked piling war depot and fought furious battles against on behalf its imperialistic cohort especially France.

In 70’s US and USSR backed up both North and South Viet Nam which alternately and boldly invaded and then occupied Cambodia up to the dawn of millennium. Both President Eisenhower and Kennedy had employed the same tactic as France by recruiting tribal and Khmer inhabitants as buffers to safeguard its interest which was given perfect excuses for both fanatic atheist Ho Chi Minh and Roman Catholic Ngo Din Diem to slaughter the other religious ethnics and Khmers once again. Last President Nixon, at Dr. Kissinger inhumane vengeance, resorted to heavy secret bombardment the hell out of Cambodia, Laos as a safely retreat measure for US from SE Asia.

This war resulted heavy casualties: US lost over 50,000 people, Viet Nam lost millions people, Laos lost hundred thousands people and Cambodia lost 3 million lives for not so directly war involvement. Worst Viet Nam historical war monger had waged wars and annexed Cambodia since 1700 onward but either France or US helped restoring justice before their abandonment. France made Cambodia as a second rate nation and lost its land in the same breath to Viet Nam. Simply France has a moral obligation to Cambodia and its own world democratic advocacy.

France radicals, USSR, US and China were readily at Viet Nam disposal when it came up with new plots to conquer Indo China once for all. Foolishly Cambodia’s Prince Norodom Sihanouk instead of questioning France illegal deeds but colluded with Ho and Mao to fight his own people from the dawn of his April 17, 1975 revolution. That time US and France could have helped but chose to side with UN to fully recognize communist Viet Nam boundary included Cambodia’s Mekong Delta and disregarded Cambodia legitimacy. All chaos and internal struggles stemmed from France own perpetuated anti American sentiment and resentment on Khmer radicals all along.

Legally France has more than anybody in perpetuating Viet Nam to accomplish its malfeasance toward Khmers since post world war II. Now US and France completely ignore Khmer people suffering as they never had anything to do with all these times. It is a farce that they kept shouting afar Khmers did to their own, however, only unconscionable people would take their words seriously. Morally France and US owe Cambodia justice and reparation for what they had willfully done to its people and nation.

Couldn't Have Been Self Salvation?

Couldn't Have Been Self Salvation?

Mr. Peter Leuprecht has made it eminently that Cambodia problems are due to Mr. Hun Sen successive government grotesque incompetence. Repeatedly the world has been informed of its irregularity and impropriety but there was no serious accountability so far for Mr. Hun Sen non- performance. Now Cambodia is fully infected by both Philippines Ferdinand-Imelda Marcos epidemics and Myanmar absolute Junta military rule addiction. To date Cambodia woe has not ended yet after UNTAC retreat.

According to AFP on 5-11-2005, Mr. Hun Sen is in Japan for personals. However, he has frantically made efforts to beg Japanese officials for additional cash which is his government responsibility anyway. This shows how unreliable of his government when comes to word of honor. It has been years Mr. Hun Sen government was playing difficult and raising all kinds of intent to halt the needed Khmer Maoist- Communist mass murder trial from happening.

This is Japan opportunity to account Mr. Hun Sen and his government morality and responsibility since it is also a very Buddhist traditional society and one of the most generous nations so far for this particular endeavor. Therefore, it must measure the worthiness of Mr. Hun Sen word and action before it reopens its purse again.

As promised Mr. Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary General, has come through amidst his many powerful member indifferences with international pledge of $46 million for the trial expense last month. Now is the moment of truth the daring Strong Man with Iron Fists of Kampuchea has embarrassingly admitted that he is incapable to fully pledge total share in the amount of $13.3 million.

In reality if Mr. Hun Sen was sincere in bringing justice to the victims he could make a lasting example for all ASEAN leaders by asking each of his nouveau bourgeoisie and tycoon friends to salvage their national dignity and pride. This is a humane and altruistic cause which enables the nation to redeem its self-respect and unity.

Imagine if Mr. Hun Sen would have done that, Cambodia could have gained exceptional respect from world community. History would record such a leader taking his responsibility to appease wealthy citizens to contribute toward own national humanitarian and justice efforts. The US government is notorious in doing that all the time when there was a need to invoke sense of nationalism. In this case Mr. Hun Sen could do the same to make a difference in proving to the world that Cambodia is still a dignified and decent nation yet. It has been 30 years late already no one could do it but the least he personally shows people his statesmanship and moral calling.

We, who live abroad, are making honest living and not wealthy but still have friends and families in Cambodia. So far we have regularly sent contributions to help building schools or temples the same as family material needs. As common folks we will do what we can to show kinship and sense of our Buddhist tradition of helping hands to bring closure and justice for our fallen loved ones.
